Bay Windows: Your Window Treatment Options

Bay window source:

Bay windows are stylish and incredibly useful. They allow light to stream in while also providing you with a larger view of the surrounding area. However, they also can heat up or cool down a space very quickly depending on the season. You may want to add some privacy, too.  Because of their unique form, bay windows are sometimes a challenging situation when it comes to window treatments. Depending on the depth and the overall size of the window, you may need to get creative. Consider all the options available to you when it comes to window treatments for bay windows. You have more options than you think.

  • Roman Shades: Especially for the top portions of these windows, roman shades can work well in most situations. They are available in numerous styles but also in numerous sizes. Roman shades allow you to easily allow the right amount of light in, too.
  • Curtains on a Flexible Track: Consider this option when you want the traditional look in the space, but you need something that will adhere to the rounded shape of a bay window.
  • Cellular Shades: Most bay windows have energy loss problems because of how many windows are located in the space. For a stylish option that is also helpful in reducing energy costs, consider cellular shades. These are easily adaptable to most any environment, too.

These are a few of the options you have when it comes to bay windows and the window treatments for them. Focus on top quality products that respond well to the design and style features in the room as well. You will find that each of these options offers numerous choices in style, color, fabrics and size, to accommodate virtually any type of bay window out there.
